"Swimming in Shark Alley" This short film documents a season in Gansbaai, South Africa discovering the true nature of great whites.  Shark videographer, Lalo Saidy, takes WSV's Skyler Thomas to Shark Alley to swim unprotected in a high traffic hunting ground of white sharks.  Is it possible to survive such a foolish adventure?

A short film from my days in grad-school, "Fear" invites the viwer to re-evaluate what species should truly fuel our fear.

This 10 minute feature touches on a few aspects of white shark behavior that may surprise you.  This film is currently on tour in the Alaska Ocean Film Festival.

"White Dream" is an artistic short film abstract and ambient in nature which plays upon the irrational fears and obsessions humans hold with great white sharks.  This film also pays tribute to Andre Hartman, the man who pioneered open water interaction with great whites without the protection of a cage.
This film was a graduate school project and features borrowed footage as well as original footage.

WSV traveled to Ano Nuevo National Park to observe northern elephant seals mating and giving birth along the California Coast.

The pups of this massive creatures have been known to gain 300 lbs a week before heading out to the ocean.

An adult elephant seal can weigh 5,000 lbs and have been known to kill rival males during mating season.  This is the favorite prey of the great white shark.  By comparison humans are an easy catch...but not one worth pursuing.

"The Farallon Islands" WSV shot and edited this video for the Gulf of the Farallones Marine Sanctuary Visitor Center in  2006.  The Faralonnes are a mysterious place that time seems to have forgotten.  These islands are home once a year to a wide range of migrating  animal species not to mention a favorite feeding ground for some of the largest great whites in the world.  (footage shot and edited by White Shark Video)
