Nightlife at the Academy of Sciences, Sharktober theme, October 6th!!

Picture
The Nightlife series at the California Academy of Sciences is already an amazing night, but this Thursday they are combing sharks and beer to create 'Sharktoberfest'.
Enjoy the music of Opulent Temple, shark videos (my footage) mixed by VJ Tony Roxxx, tria and presentations by Sea Stewards, shark specimen demonstrations by the lab, and my own photo collection being displayed in the African Hall (which also happens to be the beer tasting room).
For more information about the photos on display at the Academy click here.

Sea Turtle Exhibit at Nightlife

Celebrate World Sea Turtle Day during a night of interactive educational displays, expert speakers, and films by the Sea Turtle Restoration Project.  Academy of Science, 6/16/2011.  Click here for more.

World Oceans Day - June 11

"We need oceans.  Oceans need sharks.  Do you really need your soup?"
Shark finning is leading to the destruction of our oceans as shark populations are wiped out.  Come out to sign AB 376 and learn more about the shark-finning industry.

Also featuring new film screenings, the music of My Peoples, byKill exhibits, and more.

To help raise funds WSV is donating a framed print of "Hello".  Enter the raffle for your chance to win.  All proceeds will be donated 100% to ending the shark-finning industry.

June 11, Sports Basement Presidio, 3 - 8.

Sharktoberfest

David McGuire of Sea Stewards organizes a day of shark filled education at the Gulf of the Farallones Marine Sanctuary Visitor's Center every October. Last year included the attendance of cartoonist Jim Toomey, the building of a life-size white shark, and film screenings.  Click here for the official site and more information.
